At an event held in Shenzhen, technology company HONOR presented a significant breakthrough in the field of robotics, setting a new speed record for humanoid robots.

A robot trained with HONOR's artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm reached a top speed of 4 meters per second, marking a milestone in this category. This achievement, the company explained, demonstrates the potential of its technology to optimize robotic systems and develop innovative solutions.

According to information provided by HONOR, the robot used in this demonstration belongs to Unitree, but was trained with HONOR's AI software through an open interface. This approach highlights the flexibility and collaborative capabilities of its algorithm, which seeks to integrate into a broader AI ecosystem.

David Moheno, Director of Communications and Public Relations for HONOR LATAM, emphasized that this advancement reflects the brand's commitment to innovation and its vision of a future where AI and robotics work together to improve the quality of life. "We are exploring the possibilities that robotics offers and collaborating with partners to create an open and thriving AI ecosystem," he stated.

HONOR Seeks to Enter Robotics

The robotics development is part of a broader strategy known as the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, which seeks to expand the integration of artificial intelligence beyond mobile devices. This plan includes a strategic investment of $10 billion over the next five years, with the goal of building a collaborative, shared-value AI ecosystem.

According to the company, this bold vision not only fuels its foray into robotics but also strengthens its position in key markets, such as Latin America, where it has climbed positions in the smartphone sector during the first quarter of 2025.

HONOR announced a major investment in artificial intelligence.

In April 2025, HONOR established a “New Industry Incubation Department” to support its foray into emerging areas. This department focuses on the development of AI agents and so-called “embodied AI,” which seeks to integrate artificial intelligence into physical bodies capable of interacting with the real environment.

This approach, according to HONOR, is a natural extension of its commitment to technological innovation and creating solutions that transcend mobile devices.

Advances in robotics are not the only area on which HONOR is innovating. The company has noted that its AI algorithm, which was key to the speed record for humanoid robots, has potential applications in a variety of industries.

HONOR is not only thinking about smartphones, but now also about robots.

This development underscores the brand's ability to lead in a competitive market and adapt to the demands of a constantly evolving technological environment. With its foray into robotics and its focus on artificial intelligence, HONOR seeks to position itself as a key player in the creation of a comprehensive technological ecosystem.

The company has emphasized that its strategy is not limited to diversification, but rather represents a commitment to innovation and open collaboration, elements it considers essential for its sustained growth in the coming years.
